This is a nice, original printing of The Century Guild Hobby Horse. Volumes II & III. Published by the proprietors at the Chiswick Press, London (1887 & 1888). Volume II features frontispiece of Death Crowning Innocence. Also features The Rose of Infanta, The Life Mask of William Blake and Diana, Mars, and Venus by Andrea Mantegna. Volume III features woodcuts : The Meeting with Dives, and the Chase of Cupid, The Descent of Minerva, and King Rene's Honeymoon. Measure 9.5" x 12.5" and contain 162 pages each. Boards detached, one board missing. Original brown paper wraps present but heavily worn. Interior pages good, text and illustrations sharp and clean. Sold as they are.
