Item for sale is a signed, first edition, first printing of Alvin Journeyman, by Orson Scott Card. Book is inscribed "To the memory of Jonathan Noah Levy" and dated 13 September 1995. This book was actually donated to and put into circulation in the Wheaton, MD, Montgomery Public County library for a period of time before being removed. Unfortunately, I don't know the complete story and background. Note: Book is inscribed in memory of Jonathan Noah Levy, a young man who died of Leukemia at the age of 20 on January 14, 1991, and was very interested in science and space and worked as an intern as the Goddard Space Flight Center. The screenwriter Howard Weinstein immortalized Jonathan by naming a Star Trek scientific survey ship "The USS Jonathan Levy", in the Next Generation episode, "Perchance to Dream". There is a write up on Jonathan on the Air and Space Museum website. Book is in overall good condition, but does have markings from the library. See pictures for complete details.
